'World Wetlands Day' cleanup on Park Island
9th February 2002
The weather was glorious for those who came along to help, ie. Zandvlei Trust members, 'Friends of Park Island' and other dedicated local residents.
Another function at the University of the Western Cape (Urban Catchment Management Symposium 2002) clashed, so we had fewer members participating.

Two groups formed, one to remove weed and litter blocking a canal mouth and the other weeded out pockets of young Port Jackson seedlings.

This is the weed removal group, most of the weed was cleared from this section before we left.

Keith and Helen Erlangsen brought their boys along in their canoe and helped remove litter in the deep water. Una Hartley helping to off load the cargo.
