Zandvlei
Inventory and Monitoring Programme
An outline and formal launch of the programme will took place on the 28 November 2001 at
the Imperial Yacht Club. We are looking for any enthusiastic residents
and school children who have an interest in the environment, to join us in the development of this monitoring
programme.
You need not be scientifically trained at all. Enthusiasm and interest are the only requirements. It will be educational and fun
and even if you know nothing about the environment now, we promise that in just a few months you will become a
knowledgable expert in the
field.
It is especially suited for children and school groups who will be able to establish basic monitoring stations in their areas of
interest and perhaps participate in annual or biannual census exercises.
Below is the list of people who put their names
down at the meeting. The flora and bird groups have started as this is the
largest interest group. Water salinity is being measured and we need more people
to take regular readings at specified points.
