18/08/2010 (Wednesday) - Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting.

At the Zandvlei Sports Club (IYC) 17h30 all nominated representatives for the 6 user groups to meet.

This was postponed to September.

July 2010.

Invitation to the public meeting.

Outcome from the public meeting on 19/07/2010 attended by about 40 people also with a number of apologies.

A Vision was proposed, Management Objectives were listed from previous reports on Zandvlei.
Overall and Key Management Objectives were put forward. Some wording will be changed as per the meeting and will be revisited.
It is proposed that the Zandvlei Management Forum (made up of National, Provincial and Local Government officials and with civil society interest group representatives) will oversee and receive input from 4 technical working groups (TWG) - water level and mouth management, water quality and monitoring, aquatic weed and invasive plants and conservation and planning.
The (TWG) need to be up and running by 09/08/2010.
The (TWG) will have 3 public or civil society representatives from residents, recreational users and a Zandvlei Trust representative.
The objective is to have all the work with the document reviews finalised by the end of November 2010, so the Plan may be formally introduced early in 2011.
