Peninsula Paddle Expedition on 23rd May 2010.

The de Waal Road, Southfield canal.

Making good progress they are north of Princessvlei in the canal near the de Waal Road bridge.
Muizenberg is still visible in the background, about 7 - 8kms away.

On the right hand side is the Southfield sewerage pump station,
on the northern side of de Waal Road.

They will be heading for Kenilworth Race Track on bicycles in about 15 minutes. The canal disappears underground in a pipe network.
At Kenilworth Race Track, on the north boundary the start of the river system heading north towards Milnerton begins.
They will enter the canal at the Access Park Shopping Centre and follow the M5 highway to the Mowbray Golf Course, where the Black River enters the Vygieskraal River.
