Zandvlei estuary nature reserve



SEEP – World Wetlands Day celebration, 6th February 2003.



SEEP organised an outing to Zandvlei for 120 pupils from the Grassy Park,
Lotus River/Pelican Park/Parkwood and Steenberg/Retreat/Lavender Hill areas.
They alternated between Zandvlei and Rondevlei Environmental Centres with 
a talk and walk around to learn about Wetlands and Estuaries of which Zandvlei
is the most south westerly estuary in South Africa.



Erika gave the groups a talk about what they were going to see at Zandvlei. 
She asked them how Wetlands and Estuaries function.



The pupils checking the Zandvlei Bird Identification Charts 
for the birds they were going to see.




The Western Cape Provincial Administration sponsored 
part of the days events. The second group about to set 
off on the walk in the Nature Reserve.

This group receiving their sponsors caps at the Langevlei Wetlands. 
They were shown a very successful reclaimed functioning Wetland
