Guy Midgley and Peter Brown discussing Climate Change.

Guy Midgley (Scientist from the National Botanical Institute) gave us an insite into perhaps what may happen to the Western part of Southern Africa in the near future due to burning excessive amounts of fossil fuels. He also discussed the practical science of measuring the theoretical projections and how some of the feedback seems to be indicating alarmingly similar information.
He suggested we all look at our lifestyles and look for ways to reduce ways of burning fossil fuels.

Ludine Lee Wright introducing Cormac Cullinan.

Cormac Cullinan (Environmental Lawyer and author of The Wild Law) stimulated all present with a different look at how we humans have used the law to dominate all else on the planet. He illustrated how we have reduced all other species on the earth to objects for our use. He suggested this has become ingrained and entrenched our behaviour and thinking and we are going to have to change our mindset quickly, if we are to conserve and preserve the different habitats which support us.

work they are doing. They have learnt to press plant and flower
samples in a scientific method at Kirstenbosch, so that it will become
reference material for the future.
