Marina da Gama flood waters in July 2009.
Reports have been received that this was a
1:50 year flood.
The Cape Town Airport recorded the highest rainfall in 50 years of recording at
this station for a 12 hour period. Elgin forest station recorded 148mm in 12
hours. Newlands forest station recorded 137mm.

There was concern in the Marina on Sunday night 12/07/2009. The water was rising and at the doors at 09h00.

The owls and the mermaid are back on dry land amoungst the
plants on Wednesday.
Note! where the water level was at there feet, the leaves were left behind
as the water receded.
